I’ve vented my disappointement, anger and sadness at the election of Kevin Rudd in real life. I haven’t said much online unfortunately, because I’ve been fighting the good fight elsewhere.
However I will link to the Economist’s analysis of Kevin Rudd’s speech on Frederich Hayek, which goes to show Rudd’s lack of economic analysis skills. Their take on Rudd is here.
In a nutshell, they think his speech was rubbish, wrong and “nonsense”. We might be using those very words within 12 months when the gloss has come off and we realise how inept he and his team are.

We will say it straight, and clear, and at once. The Whitlam Government has run its course: it must go now, and preferably by the honorable course of resignation – a course which would dispel all arguments about constitutional proprieties, historic conventions and ‘grabs’ for power.
Never forget that Whitlam was a DREADFUL Prime Minister. The left will always try to re-write history and paint him as some saviour of Australia. He was rubbish and was totally rejected by the Australian people in TWO further elections after the Dismissal.
